Vivek Express

Viveka Express (Dibrugarh Town-Trivandrum Central-Kanyakumari Vivek Express)numbered 15906 is the longest running train in India, and 8th longest in the world.[1] It is one among the four Vivek Expresses announced by Railway Minister Kum.Mamta Bonerjee to commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

This weekly train runs a total distance of 4,286 km from Dibrugarh (Station Code: DBRG) in upper Assam, to Kanyakumari (Station Code: CAPE) at the southern tip of Indian peninsula via Trivandrum Central, that will be covered in 82:30 hours (almost 4 days). There are 52 halts spanning across a total of 615 intermediate railway stations[2]

Himsagar Express was previously the longest running train in India.[3]
